This is the Day

In this moment, on this day, I seek to bless your name. 

O Sovereign God, my times are in your hands.

I have been realizing that I spend a steady portion of my life caught up in fantasy - worrying about things that may come, desiring things and fearing that I will put on the wrong blouse, leave the house at the wrong time, or say the wrong thing and all of my dreams will crumble away.... I give myself far too much power in the land of my imaginations! 

God is totally in control, I can trust that my times are in His hands. He has given me a beautiful inheritance, He leads me beside still waters, He restores my soul - Though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death I shall fear no evil, for He is with me. 

For His glory we have been formed and made! How am I living each day with my eyes focused heavenward in the day-to-day moments? 

God has been working in my heart of late, He has been showing me that when I feel the ache of longing for something different, for knowledge of what's to come, for adventure -  I can choose to rejoice! 

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

His plan is best, He is faithful to complete the good works that He has started, and He has richly blessed me, lavishing upon me His grace, and enabling me to do the good works that He has prepared before the beginning of creation.

 "Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!"

2 Corinthians 9:15

I don't have to live life awaiting the next thing - 

I can rejoice in the moments that God has given me, 

anticipate with peaceful trust the things that may come, 

and have faith that the things which have passed will be used by God for His glory even if I cannot see how that could be.
