About Me

My hubby and me on our honeymoon

I am a redeemed saint unto my God because of the saving grace of His Son Jesus Christ.

The title for this blog came about from the year that I spent working in an orphanage in Cochabamba, Bolivia. "This Beautiful Mundane" refers to the beautiful everyday moments that give purpose to living. A prayer spoken over a friend, snuggles from a little child, laughter, the way the sun strikes the clouds on a particular morning.

I can easily dream of the big things, thinking that I will have this instantaneously deeper relationship with God because of some grand moment - the day to day can feel less than glorious.

When life feels as if it is lacking purpose and meaning, the mundane can feel useless. My time in Bolivia taught me that even when we can't see it, God is working, thus my job is to serve Him to the best of my ability and to find joy in serving Him in the moment by moment happenings of life. The God of the glorious is also the God of the mundane, and He uses it for His sovereign purposes and that is truly beautiful!

I married my dear husband on 10-10-2020, and moved to live with him in Minnesota - This Illinois girl is forsaking her wild prairies for mounds of snow - Since I work from home, my office has windows, heat, and a cozy fireplace a few steps away, I say, "Bring on the snow!"
